We just got back a week ago from spending almost 2 weeks at the beach. Right now, Cole is not a big fan of the ocean and the sand. However, he loves the pool! We had a great time visiting with family over our vacation.
Since we've been back, new things have been happening with Cole and our family. First, Charlie and I celebrated finding out that we are expecting a baby. My due date is March 4th. That is 9 days after Cole's birthday (he will turn 2). We are very excited about this and look forward to every step of the way. Second, Cole is beginning to say some words and is really trying to communicate with us in many ways (some not so good). Here are some of the words that he attempts to say, most of the words he just says the beginning or just the middle sound.
1. clock
2. tick tock
3. Mama (he says this the best)
4. up
5. hop
6. pop
7. bubble
8. yellow
9. dog (sign language)
10. truck
11. baby (says this pretty well too)
12. banana
13. ball
14. dada
15. mo mo (lawn mower)
16. yes (says this clearly too)
It's just amazing how much he understands these days. This past weekend, though, he has started to throw some fits about things he wants, things he doesn't want, and times when he doesn't know what he wants. He is definitely turning into his own little person with feelings, wants, and needs. He is now 17 months old and will go to the doctor again at 18 months old. He will also start preschool in the fall one day a week. A lot of his friends are in his class. Fun times!

So hard to believe Cole's reaching 18 months and yall are pregnant again--where does the time go? Now I need to work on teaching him "Aunt C!"
Catherine,
Yes, that needs to be the next word on his list. I think Leonardo may be a little while! See you Saturday.
