Stay at home Mom

The other day I was on the phone with a plumbing service.  They were scheduled to come out to my house to work on our sink and dishwasher.  To make a long, long story short, they didn't show up.  I called and talked to the secretary about what had happened.  In the course of our conversation, I mentioned to the lady that I was home during most of the day.  Then, I used the words that I've always prayed to be able to use.  I said that I was a stay at home mom (part-time some days).  When I said it a smile spread across my face.

Charlie and I are truly blessed.  Those of you who know me, know that it was really hard for me to step away from the classroom this year.  I love children, but I love my son more.  The three weeks that I went back to work full time last May after my maternity leave were the hardest weeks of MY LIFE!  The Lord opened the door to St. James and within a few weeks I was offered the job as the director of the after school program.  We prayed and then believed that it was what God wanted me to do in this season of my life.  Most importantly, I would be able to spend more time with my beautiful boy.

I love spending the mornings and some of the early afternoons with him.  After he has his breakfast, we play together everyday.  Now that he can sit up, we play on the floor surrounded by all of his toys.  We have a great time together, mommy and son.

Some days my mom looks after him while other days my mother in law watches him.  It is another blessing to have family so close.

When I stop to think about it, we have so much to be thankful for.  We have a beautiful home, cars to drive, clothes, food, and the list goes on.  More importantly, we are thankful for Cole and the new things that we have learned since he was born.  He bring us so much joy.  Thank you Jesus for this indescribable gift.

Here are some snapshots of a morning with my little man.

Jaimee,
Ya’ll are truly blessed. I do not know what your secret is, but please share it with me before Joel & I have kids! As of now, I cannot see how I would be that fortunate. If we do not see you before then, we will definitely be back for the game on the 18th. As always, ya’ll are welcome here anytime!
